CNN rejected a claim made by Elon Musk-and later was marked by Bill Ackman he only covered Donald Trump’s rally on Butler, because the network may have been “removed” for attempting to kill the then presidential candidate.
Musk, who heads the Trump administration’s Efficiency Department (Doge), made the stunning suggestion during an interview with Podcaster Joe Rogan over the weekend, asking himself why CNN “Streamed [the rally] Live … which I don’t believe they did for any other gathering. “
Tesla’s boss added that it was “strange” that CNN chose to broadcast Rally Live given that it was “in the middle nowhere in Pennsylvania”.
Ackman, the founder of Manhattan Persing Square Capital Management, followed in X: “What are @cnn’s chances left to broadcast Butler’s rally? Why is this not worthy of an investigation? It should not be too difficult to understand who orders the coverage and why. “
He then tried to clarify his post, writing: “I am not suggesting that anyone at @cnn know about the attempt to kill, but it is in the field of opportunity to consult something interesting to motivate them to cover Butler’s rally, not transmitting other Trump gatherings.”
The embedded network rejected his theory, responding to Ackman’s post on X with his answer.
“CNN provided direct coverage of Butler of President Trump, without waiting for news about his election to vice president. Anydo in contravention of that fact is completely false,” the network wrote.
CNN Public Relations Department answered ACKMAN by writing to X:
“If it is true, this is a bullet worth following in my opinion.”
The post has requested comment from Musk. A representative for Ackman refused to comment.
Trump was shot in the right ear on Butler on July 11 by Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was killed by secret service agents.
A second attempt at Trump’s life took place on September 15 at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla., Where a suspect named Ryan Wesley Routh was captured after being noted targeting a rifle. No injury was reported.
These incidents prompted investigations into security errors, leading to a two -party labor force that issued recommendations to increase protective measures for political figures.
